Corporate Spotlight

Avalanche Media Group is a boutique media planning and buying shop that keeps things smart, simple, and effective. We bring thoughtful strategy with a nod to Austin’s creative vibe to every campaign.

We work across both traditional and digital media because even in a tech-driven city, the right balance of media still makes all the difference. Our core focus areas include government and public sector, retail, political, real estate, education, energy, healthcare, B2B, and CPG.

Founded by UT alum Kalyn Asher, Avalanche is the sister agency to Dallas-based Asher Media, established in 1999 and recognized on the inaugural Longhorn 100 list.

From iconic Texas brands like the Texas Lottery and Callahan’s General Store to emerging startups and agency partners, we act as an extension of your team. We help you connect with real audiences in meaningful ways. No fuss, no fluff. Just thoughtful planning, efficient buying, and a flexible model tailored to your needs. Let’s connect.

Events

Happy Mother's Day!

Round Rock Ballet Folklorico, along with the Williamson County Hispanic Heritage Committee, Univision Local Media-Austin, Austin PBS, and the City of Round Rock present the Sixteenth Annual Mother’s Day event, Dia de Las Madres, from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at Prete Main Street Plaza.

Enjoy arts and crafts for the kids, face-painting, and food, and take pictures with Mom!

Asian American and Pacific Islanders have made such a big impact on the media landscape. While still a heavily underrepresented group in today’s media, some key individuals have led the way for pushing more AAPI representation in news, broadcasting, marketing, advertising, and more.

From Connie Chung, the first Asian American woman to anchor a national weekday news broadcast, to Autumn Durald Arkapaw, the first woman, first nominee of Asian descent, and first Black nominee to win an Oscar for Best Cinematography (Sinners), AAPI individuals are pivotal and present in today’s media industry.
