This luncheon will feature three panelists representing the automotive, hospitality and food industries who have had to shift their business model due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Each panelist will share with the audience the current state of their industry and what they believe the future of their industry looks like.

Morning Anchor

Sally Hernandez anchors the Emmy award-winning morning show on KXAN. A proud Texan, Sally has called Austin home for more than a decade working her way up the ladder from news intern in 2001 to morning anchor for KXAN News today.

Automotive - Capitol Chevrolet

Alex Flores, General Management

Alex Flores is a 26-year automotive veteran and current Dealer Principle and GM of Capitol Chevrolet, Seguin Chevrolet and founder of AF Consulting. His experience and knowledge have brought under performing stores to elite status. When he isn’t leading the teams to victory he serves his community and church. Alex is married with three children who keep him more than busy.  He is a Veteran of our U.S. armed forces and with that brings much needed structure and accountability to his stores.

 

Hospitality - Fairmont Hotel

Meghan Earnshaw, Director of Operations

Meghan Earnshaw is Director of Operations at Fairmont Austin, overseeing all hotel operations at the 1,048-room luxury property. Born into a family of hoteliers and raised on two coasts; California and Maine, she has 16 years in the hospitality industry. From ski resorts and historic inns to high-end boutique and luxury corporate hotels in Maine, Michigan, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, Meghan has touched nearly every market segment in the business. Ms. Earnshaw comes to Austin from Fairmont Pittsburgh, where she was Director of Operations, and prior to that served as Director of Rooms at Fairmont Chicago. Meghan holds a degree in hospitality business hotel management from Michigan State University.

 

Food Industry - Suerte

Celia Pelligrini, Sommelier

Celia Pellegrini, general manager and wine director at Suerte, is a native Austinite with a passion for wine, food, and hospitality. After attending The University of San Francisco for hospitality management, she built her career in various Michelin-star restaurants and natural wineries around the Bay Area, before returning to Austin to hone her craft in the city she loves. When not at the restaurant (which is next to never), she spends time with her bear-dog, Hugo, drinking bubbles and cooking comfort classics at home. She and Hugo are currently mastering the art of grilling and are happy to entertain any questions you may have.

 

Jillian Whitlow, Assistant General Manager

Jillian Whitlow, the assistant general manager at Suerte, has devoted her career to the hospitality industry, serving in nearly every restaurant position, from the back of house to the front. Raised in New Orleans, she has always had a deep-rooted passion for food and culture and has taken an interest in mezcal and other traditional Mexican spirits in recent years. She has served in restaurant leadership in top restaurants in San Antonio, Boulder, CO and now Austin. When not at work, Jillian spends her time taking her dog Suma on adventures to the beach and taking photos of or writing about the world as she observes it around her.
